Powered By the Masses

Working out for community. My idea is this. You enter a gym where people are getting in better shape and at the same time pumping energy into city's electrical grid. Inside of every exercise machine we have a generator and whenever a person exercises, they give back the energy by spinning the generators. With new neodymium magnets and better generator designs we can achieve a significant energy inflow into the electrical grid. Make the gyms and people compete between each other as to who makes the most energy in a given month, reward accordingly.

Snot Spots!

Immediate reagent tests for antibiotic resistance in any infection, required to be used on site, at prescription. Ever had a real sinus infection and gone through five rounds of antibiotics to clear it? The common practice is to prescribe the most common (least effective) drug first, and work up in Russian roulette style trial and error. The development of a simple swipe pad that looked for resistance markers would greatly reduce the use of the WRONG drugs, while lowering the spread of disease by treating effectively the First Time. Fewer sick days, fewer broad spectrum exposures, better cures!

Carbon Chemistry for Life

Everyone, particularly the obese, would benefit by reducing carbon from simple sugars, like High Fructose Corn Syrup and table sugar, with Mannoheptulose, the 7-carbon sugar in Avocados, and C3H8O3 glycerol, found in sweet wine and used for making soap and bio-diesel. Specifically, 5% of calories from Mannoheptulose and 35% from Glycerin. Obese people could also use the GI dynamics Endo Barrier to lose weight and increase health. The device is in use in Europe and helps with weight and blood sugar problems. This diet would also reduce protein intake for those over 60 to 45-60 grams of protein per day.

Study Healthy People

Take detailed personal and family histories. Educate and interview parents in depth about what constitutes psychological trauma and take trauma histories. Do developmental attachment histories. Test for multiple intelligences and creativity quotients (CQ). Sequence the healthy genome. Develop tests to assess epigenetic factors and do epigenetic assessments. Come up with one integrated instrument to fully measure and predict health trajectories.

Post-Darwinian Evolution of Genes as a Service

Pre-Darwinian evolution operated on the basis of open source IP. Darwinian era introduced speciation, sex and death of a cell. Post-Darwinian evolution based on Synthetic Genomics will enable cross-pollination and ability to teleport genes between species and cells. Cells will become biological computers with I/O and R/W with programmable selection of metabolic pathways. Morphogenesis of cells will enable polymorphism of new species. We propose to create in vivo programmable biological cells with an open source IP capable to accept diverse metabolic pathways and customizable reproduction. These programmable biological cells will use teleported Genes as a Service when-and as needed.

Opal Guide to StayingAsSaneAsPossible

As disorder naturally increases with competition for resources and living depends more on adaptability, Opal's Guide to Staying-As-Sane-As-Possible saves precious energy in deciding where-to-go-next. This information process allows individuals, families, communities, nations and cultures to refocus attention more efficiently from sickening fears to healthier "feelgoods" by matching a different scale of natures to a sense of personal pleasure so that greater potential can return. A range of regularly reviewed media outlets would make possible the "owning" of a generic world-view, based on the most accurate information available. Personalized props like totem jewelery, paraphernalia etc. would serve as reminders.

Anjna Patient Education (www.anjna.org)

Anjna Patient Education is the first organization of its kind to specifically target free clinics and reach out to socioeconomically disadvantaged patients. Studies have shown that common diseases such as type II diabetes, hypertension, and depression are heavily prevalent amongst patients from the lowest socioeconomic tier, and that patient education is 50-80% more effective when compared to medication or conventional therapy. Through the distribution of high-quality health education materials and the development of training modules, our project seeks to empower patients in free clinics to take a stand against these preventable diseases with good nutrition, diet, and lifestyle changes.

Children's Social Skills Toolkits

As a School Psychologist, I am in close contact with students, teachers and parents. I witness daily the need to prepare children to become optimistic citizens, open to exchange, cooperation and solidarity. Thanks to local partnership, I gathered relevant documents (115) to support teacher's action in their own classrooms. With my support, they can loan one of the three suitcases (following their school level) and later pool their experiences on a dedicated blog, open to any other reader. Aiming to develop children's social skills, these toolkits may improve the climate, their sense of responsability and motivation in classrooms and schools.
