The creation of mental capital

We take good health for granted until it is challenged. How we deal with lesser health is mostly up to our positive state of mind. It's our Mental Capital that pulls us through or renews our faith. My method is based on Insight, Overview and Vision to create an awareness of our positive strength, awareness of our potential as individuals or as a group to create wellness ourselves. The method works like a pebble in a pond, because vision triggers new insights and ideas. By short coaching sessions participants will create tailor-made wellness plans for themselves and others by taking action in their own hands.

TV-Treadmill

A television that is powered by a treadmill. It will only power up with the use of a treadmill being utilized. With significant use, the power can be stored in a battery to reward hard work with a break. All family members can chip in and add time. The key would have to be that the reserve, built up power resets on a regular basis, say every 48 hours. That way you can't bank tons of time without continuous effort. Maybe other equipment like a row machine, stair climber, weight machine could tie in for variety and full body coverage.

Family Dinners Help Create Healthy Children

It is proven that children who eat with their family 5 nights a week have fewer risky behaviors: less teen smoking, drinking, illegal and prescription drug use. They also have better nutrition, fewer eating disorders, and better literacy. What about people who say they don't know how to cook, or are not good at it, or don't feel like cooking? Well, as far as Liz Edmunds, author of The Food Nanny Rescues Dinner, is concerned, she has counter-arguments for the 10 most common excuses, which she convincingly offers in her chapter "Yes, But..." Families can do more than government!

Would you eat off a toilet seat?

As a pre-school art teacher, I know school cleanliness standards and would never ask students to eat off a changing table. When my husband was hospitalized, I found out the standards were not the same in hospitals. Everyday in hospitals and nursing homes, patients do this. The handy bedside hospital tray table is used for food service, prep space for incontinent bedding changes and prep space for wound dressing materials. In this painting, I am trying to spread awareness of this "unmentionable" problem. I hope by doing this we can increase patient safety outcomes in our most compromised patients.

Augmented Reality Gym Mirror

When you're working out at the gym, a mirror in front of you shows you a visualization of your future self - thinner, more muscular, generally in better shape than you currently are. This is such a compelling vision that it motivates people to exercise more to move towards matching it. It can start off being installed in high-end gyms, then filter down into Wii-like applications used at home.

A better, bigger burn in fat and muscle (ABIFAM)

Obesity is alarmingly prevalent in developed and developing countries, putting countless people at increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and death. Clinical trials show consistently that diet and exercise induce weight loss temporarily and that the weight is regained within two years. We need an assist. Recently, we discovered a potential drug to treat obesity. It works by increasing the ability of muscle and fat tissues to burn energy (patent pending). Investment in research and development can, within a decade, convert this potential therapy into what so many people have been looking for: an effective way to lose weight.

Meditation to Reduce Health Care Utilization

Biomedical research has validated meditation as one of the most effective and reliable preventive modalities to optimize health outcomes and decrease utilization of health care services. Decreased stress hormone levels, blood pressure, rates of insomnia, anxiety and depression and markedly reduced health insurance utilization rates point to the potential for the practice of meditation to improve global health inexpensively. Persuasively designed social networks (via iPads and smartphones) will offer motivation and facilitate compliance, as well as track and upload biomarker derived physiological data, to document better parameters of health and the reduction in use of centralized health care services.

The Cure is (Already) Out There

The problem isn't finding a cure, it's bringing it to market. Drugs like "DCA" and "GcMAF", can already cure HIV and put common cancers into remission. These claims are supported by peer-reviewed medical research. Why, then, are these treatments not evaluated by the FDA and made available to the public? Answer: these substances are already in the public domain, so pharmaceuticals can't profit from them. The solution is to fix the public policy that motivates this behavior by allowing companies to compete for time-limited, exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the public domain treatments. Win-win.

Daily Hugs

Many centuries ago, the Romans used to say "Mens Sana in Corpore Sano", reminding us that our bodies, brains and even feelings are connected. It is proved that your energy and mood can help you heal from almost every disease. This is a cheap, universal and effective therapy. The only thing you need is a hug from someone you love. This will help you improve your self esteem, your confidence, and increase your energy to face any kind of illness.
